A Question about Differential Ideals

چکیده
This paper is an extract of a paper that will soon appear in Communications in Algebra. The paper investigates the converse to a theorem which states that a differential domain D finitely generated over a field F of characteristic 0 with no nonzero proper differential ideals will have constants of differentiation C only in the field in question. The converse is known to be false but the question of whether the differential domain D can be finitely extended within its quotient field E to a domain with no nonzero proper differential ideals was raised in [M]. The paper about to appear contains two examples one of which contains a fatal error. This extract contains one example to show that the answer to the question posed is no. It is shown to be true under hypotheses which include restrictions on F and limiting the number of generators of D over C to two or the transcendence degree of D over C to one.

A Counterexample to a Question about Differential Ideals
This note gives a counterexample to a question related to the following theorem. Let D be a differential domain finitely generated over a field F with algebraically closed field of characteristic 0. If D has no nonzero proper differential ideals, then the constants of differentiation of the quotient field of D is also C. The converse is known to be false but the question of whether the differen...
متن کاملPoisson Algebras via Model Theory and Differential-algebraic Geometry
Brown and Gordon asked whether the Poisson Dixmier-Moeglin equivalence holds for any complex affine Poisson algebra; that is, whether the sets of Poisson rational ideals, Poisson primitive ideals, and Poisson locally closed ideals coincide. In this article a complete answer is given to this question using techniques from differential-algebraic geometry and model theory. In particular, it is sho...
متن کاملThe Differential Dimension Polynomial for Characterizable Differential Ideals
We generalize the differential dimension polynomial from prime differential ideals to characterizable differential ideals. Its computation is algorithmic, its degree and leading coefficient remain differential birational invariants, and it decides equality of characterizable differential ideals contained in each other.
متن کاملGovernment and Central Bank Interaction under Uncertainty: A Differential Games Approach
Abstract Today, debt stabilization in an uncertain environment is an important issue. In particular, the question how fiscal and monetary authorities should deal with this uncertainty is of much importance. Especially for some developing countries such as Iran, in which on average 60 percent of government revenues comes from oil, and consequently uncertainty about oil prices has a large effec...
متن کاملTwo New Types of Rings Constructed from Quasiprime Ideals
Keigher showed that quasi-prime ideals in differential commutative rings are analogues of prime ideals in commutative rings. In that direction, he introduced and studied new types of differential rings using quasi-prime ideals of a differential ring. In the same sprit, we define and study two new types of differential rings which lead to the mirrors of the corresponding results on von Neumann r...
